Norman Anthony is a 1966 graduate of the Boalt Hall School of Law at Berkeley. Prior to law school, he attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, where he graduated in 1962. Mr. Anthony was admitted to the California State Bar and to practice before the U.S. federal courts in 1967. Like his partner, Brenda Murdock, he is a highly experienced practitioner of family law who has been certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

Brenda Murdock is a 1984 graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law. She also attended undergraduate school at the University of San Francisco. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1984 and is certified in the practice of family law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. One of her clients described her as “a pillar of feminine strength and intelligence, combined with a deep sense of compassion and justice” and said that “the scales that represent your profession truly represent [what Brenda Murdock] is about.”

Mediation
Besides being an experienced litigation attorney, Brenda Murdock is also a capable mediator. Many mediators are not trained attorneys, so Ms. Murdock’s skill as an attorney and knowledge of the law gives her considerable help in the mediation of all issues of divorce child custody and visitation.

When mediating child custody and visitation, it is important to realize that not every resolution you and the other parent come to may be legal. For example, an agreement to trade higher child support for more visitation, or an agreement to give up custody altogether in exchange for dismissing child support obligations could be challenged in court.
